Miss Alvina Wiese Dies At Home Here
Miss Alvina Dorothea Wiese, daughter of the late Wilhelm and Margaret Wiese, passed away at her home in Manning at almost, midnight, Wednesday, November 22, 1939. She had been in ailing health all summer and reached the end at the age of 50 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Alvina was born in Crawford County, Iowa, July 6, 1889, where she grew to womanhood. She attended the rural school near where she was born and was baptized in the faith of the Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Martens of Hayes Township. In the year 1916 she moved to Manning with her parents. Her mother proceeded her in death on March 30, 1924. After the death of her mother she made her home with her father for whom she was a faithful companion until his death on January 17, 1936.

She leaves to mourn her death her three brothers, Detlef of Vail, John and William of Manning, and two sisters, Claudius Kruetzfeldt of Haynes, North Dakota; and Mrs. Hannes Hell of Manning.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.E. Zimmerman, Presbyterian pastor at Vail, Iowa, in the Ohde Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The body was interred in the family lot in the Hayes Township Cemetery.


Alvina Wiese Funeral Rites Held Today
Funeral services for Miss Alvina Wiese, who died Thursday night, were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev. E.E. Zimmerman of the Presbyterian Church at Vail officiating.

Burial was in Hayes Township Cemetery, and pallbearers were John Reetz, Ray Sanders, August Ross, John Opperman, James Mundt, and Matt Wagner.

Miss Wiese, who was about fifty years old, passed away at her home on East Second Street, where she had lived alone since the death of her father, William Wiese, four years ago. She had been in poor health for some time and confined to bed for about six weeks.

Miss Wiese was born on a Crawford County farm, near Manning.

Surviving are three brothers and two sisters: John Wiese, Manning; Detlef Wiese, Vail; William Wiese and Mrs. Anna Kruetzfeldt, both living in North Dakota; and Mrs. Hannes Hell (Sarah) Manning.
