Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Schroeder were held Sunday, August 19, 1979, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Donald Jones officiating. Interment was in Hayes Township Cemetery. The Ohde Funeral Home in Manning was in charge of the arrangements.

Alma, daughter of Sonke and Anna (Testessen) Petersen, was born March 2, 1899, at Clinton, Iowa. She attended the Clinton Schools and was united in marriage with Albert Schroeder on January 15, 1920, at Clinton. They farmed near Westside & Manning until retiring to Manning in 1961.

Alma was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Manning, the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Manning, and World War I Veterans Auxiliary of Denison.

Her husband died on June 20, 1973, and Alma has continued to make her home in Manning. She has been in ill health for the past several months and entered the Manning General Hospital about a week ago where she passed away Thursday evening, August 16, 1979, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 14 days.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald, in infancy, by her parents, by one brother & four sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Burdette Schroeder of Carroll, & Russell Schroeder of Council Bluffs; by 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren as well as by many other relatives & friends.
