Alma H. Meyer

Alma H. Meyer, 96, of Colorado Springs died Monday in a local health care center.
She had been a homemaker.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 846 E. Pikes Peak Ave., with the Rev. Walter Enge officiating. Burial will be in Manning, Iowa.

Mrs. Meyer was born Oct. 24, 1890, to Henry and Johanna (David) Borkowski in Audubon County, Iowa. She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1967. Mrs. Meyer was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She was married June 16, 1915, in Audubon County to Ernest A. Meyer, who died in 1966.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Jagels of Colorado Springs; and a sister, Adeline Jurgens of Sibley, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
A son, Warren, preceded Mrs. Meyer in death.

MANNING - Services will be Saturday, May 2, for Alma Hulda Meyer, 96.. a native of Audubon County, who died Monday, April 27, at a nursing home in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a long illness.

The Rev. Richard Burrack of Trinity Lutheran Church in Audubon County will officiate the services, which will begin at 2 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Organist will be Fern Jensen. Casket bearers will be Lloyd Borkowski, Royce Noelck, Dean Jagels, Merlin Borkowski, Curtis Schrock and Mark Jagels.

Burial will be at Manning City Cemetery.

Born Oct. 24. 1890, in Audubon County, she was a daughter of Henry and Johanna David Borkowski.

On June 16, 1915, she married Ernest A. Meyer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Audubon County. The couple lived in Omaha. Neb., where Mrs. Meyer was a homemaker for 51 years. Her husband died in 1966.

In 1967, Mrs. Meyer moved to Colorado Springs to live with her daughter.

Mrs. Meyer had lived in the nursing home for a short time before her death.

She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Jagels and her husband, Garnold of Colorado Springs; two grandsons. Dean Jagels of New Jersey and Mark Jagels of California, and a sister, Adeline Jurgens of Sibley.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Warren E. Meyer and the following brothers and sisters: Bert Borkowski, Paul Borkowski, Albert Borkowski, Leo Borkowski, Anna Jurgens and Laura Dahlke.


Alma Meyer is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
