A funeral service for Alma M. Mesecher, 91, was held on Friday, January 30 at 5 p.m. at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel in Des Moines.

Alma Marie Mesecher, was born in Manning, Iowa, on January 4, 1924, to Ernest and Caroline Mutschall and passed away at home on January 27, 2015. She attended school in Audubon County.

Alma was united in marriage to Thearl Mesecher on June 11, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1982. She was an employee of Bankers Trust Company for 65 years, retiring in 2014.

In addition to her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her parents, and a niece-in-law Sandy Knudsen.

She is survived by her sister, Irene (John) Knudsen of Audubon; nephew Rex Knudsen of Carroll and his daughters Allissa and Katie; nephew Roger (Jane) Knudsen of Williamsburg and their daughters, Julie Kennebeck and Jodie (Chad) Driscoll, her nephew Richard (Sally) Flight of Chandler, Arizona, and a niece Shirley Kittle of Des Moines.

Memorials may be directed to the Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Des Moines or the Animal Rescue League.
