ALLEN J. NISSEN
Allen, son of Charles and Viola Schwartz Nissen, was born February 2, 1941, at Manning, Iowa. He lived on a farm northwest of Manning in Iowa Township with his parents and attended country school through the eighth grade. He graduated from Manning High School in 1959. On February 12, 1961 Allen was united in marriage with Marla Lamaack at Manning. They lived and farmed in Hayes Township and also raised pure bred hogs. Allen was a Crawford County Special Deputy from 1971 - 1973, was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and currently served on the Crawford County Compensation Board. In his spare time Allen enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards.

Allen died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home northwest of Manning in Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa, on Wednesday, June 1, 1988, at the age of 47 years, 3 months, and 30 days.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Allen is survived by his wife, Marla and his son, Brian, both of Manning; by his father, Charles Nissen, of Manning; by two brothers, Stanley Nissen and his wife, Millie, of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Ron Nissen and his wife, Donna, of Jefferson; by one sister, Lois Tegels, of Fremont, Nebraska; by his mother-in-law, Norma Lamaack, of Manning; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Allen Nissen is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
