MRS. ALICE SCHRUM
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice C. Schrum will be held Friday, June 4, 1976, at 11 a.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Ia. Rev. Joel Wright, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Soloist will be Mrs. Judy Joens, and Organist will be Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn.
Interment will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Dave Rauch, Leo Williams, Gilbert Peters, Glen Jensen, Merlin Struve and Walter Baker.

The Royal Neighbors will have a Memorial Service at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, followed by the OES Memorial Services at 8:30 at Ohde Funeral Home.

Alice Christina, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Kroger, was born December 9, 1895, south of Manilla, Iowa. She attended the rural schools near her home and was united in marriage with William C. Schrum on July 23, 1919, at McKinley, Wisconsin. They have lived all of their married life in Manning, where her husband was employed in the United States Post Office.

Alice has been active in community affairs, having held memberships in the Legion Auxiliary, the Manning General Hospital Auxiliary, the Royal Neighbors, the Manning Garden Club, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter, Manning, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Manning and the United Presbyterian Women's Organization.

She has been in failing health for the past few years and passed away quietly at the Manning General Hospital Monday evening, May 31, 1976, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband; by the following children: Donald Schrum, Missouri Valley, Iowa, Mrs. Jean Rathfon, Selinsgrove, Penn., and Ray Schrum, rural route, Manilla; by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ed Kroeger, Lincoln, Nebraska; by one sister, Mrs. Ardelia Leslie, Independence, Missouri, as well as by many other relatives and friends.


Alice Schrum is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
