Mrs. Alice Wilson Moran, 79, of Button Ball Lane, South Egremont, died late yesterday afternoon, July 4, 1980, at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. She was the wife of Robert I. Moran. She was born in Manning, Iowa, October 25, 1900, the daughter of Howard D. and Katherine (Carson) Wilson. She graduated from Clarinda High School in Clarinda, Iowa, and Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa.
Mrs. Moran lived in Egremont, Massachusetts, for the past 39 years. Prior to moving here, she taught English in public schools in South Dakota and Minnesota.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Great Barrington and for several years taught Sunday school there. She was a past president of the Thursday Morning Club of Great Barrington and was a member of the Egremont Garden Club. She also belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. She was past president of the Berkshire County chapter of the United Nations Association and accompanied her husband on several missions for the World Health Organization of the U.N. to Iraq, Sudan, and Sabah, Malaysia.
Beside her husband, she is survived by a son, R. Colin Moran of Arlington, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Sheila M. Murphy of Newbury, Vermont; and four grandchildren.
