Obituary of Alfrieda Puck
1956

Alfrieda Puck, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jochim Puck, was born in Jackson county, Minnesota, on May 20, 1893. Her childhood was spent on a farm with her parents and sisters and brothers. When the family moved to Lake Park she came with them and for many years was employed in the Emerson Store. Her many friends in this community will remember her for her kind and cheerful personality. In 1934 she went to Long Beach, California, with her sister Amelia where she was employed at the Sears Roebuck Store for eleven years.

While Alfrieda lived in Lake Park she was a member of the Presbyterian church. In Long Beach she became a member of the First Lutheran church.

Alfrieda passed away August 23, 1956 in Long Beach after a long illness. Funeral services were held there August 25th, and the body was brought to Lake Park where services were held Wednesday, Aug. 29 in the Presbyterian church, and the body laid to rest beside her parents in the Silver Lake cemetery here.

Those surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Emma Wiese of Lake Park, Ia., Amelia Puck of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Ida Nelson of Spirit Lake, Ia., Mrs. Amanda Sehr of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Elsie Conard, of edar Rapids, Ia., and four brothers: George Puck of Lake Park, la., Albert Puck, of Spring Valley Minn., Juluis Puck, of Lakefield, Minn., and Emil Puck of Worthington, Minn.

Those who preceded her in death were a brother Henry and a sister Agnes.

Last rites were held here Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 29 at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church, with the pastor Rev. J. H. Thaden, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Carrel Burns sang "Abide With Me" and "Just as He Wills," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. C. E. Arnold.

Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased: Arlo Puck, Dean Conard, Harlan Puck, Wilbert Wiese, Donald Puck, and Cecil Nelson.
