Funeral services for Albert Puck were held Sunday, August 20, 1978, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Burial was in Manning Cemetery with Malick Foley, Glenn Steinke, Gerhardt Beckman, Lester Genzen, Ernest Grimm and Leroy Musfeldt as casketbearers.

Albert Puck, son of Hans and Bertha Goettsch Puck, was born October 5, 1889, near Manning, Iowa. He attended the rural schools near his home and later the Manning High School. When Albert was nine years old, his father died.

Albert worked as a carpenter during his early years and was united in marriage in 1910 to Emma Kruse. This union was blessed with one son, Willis. In 1914 Albert started to farm east of Manning. His wife died in 1926 and shortly thereafter Albert started in as an implement dealer, specializing in John Deere implements. This firm is now owned and operated by Albert's son and 2 grandsons.

Albert was united in marriage with Amanda Mundt on June 12, 1932, and he retired from active business in 1956.

He is a member of Zion Lutheran Congregation of Manning. Following a fall in which he suffered a broken hip, Albert passed away early Thursday morning, August 17, 1978, at the Manning General Hospital, at the age of 88 years, 10 months, 12 days.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and two sisters in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; his son, Willis, 2 grandsons, Warren and Kenneth, all of Manning; 1 granddaughter, Peggy, Mrs. Frank Osdoba, Sioux City; by 6 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.


Albert Puck is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
