AGED FLAGLER MAN PASSED AWAY
December 10, 1942

Albert Edward Polzin, well known Flagler, Colorado, man passed away Sunday afternoon at his home north of town at the age of 91 years.

Mr. Polzin had been in good health despite his many years until a week ago when he contracted a cold. He seemed to be Improving and Saturday was even able to be up and around. Sunday he took a quick turn for the worse and passed away that afternoon.

He was born August 19, 1851, in Prussia. At age 18, Albert came to the U.S., he was a stowaway and helped by his brother John Frederick Polzin. He worked at various places and finally settled at Audubon, Iowa, where he was married.
On November 23, 1882, he married Bertha Emilie Augusta Rudnick, born December 17, 1860, daughter of Henry Rudnick and Albertine Witt in Prussia.
Albert died December 6, 1942, and Bertha died January 6, 1941.

In 1921, Mr. and Mrs. Polzin and several of the children came to Flagler and built up a fine place at the north edge of town.

Mrs. Polzin passed away two years ago, in January 1941. Nine of their ten children survive their father. They are Ida, Fred, Arnold, and Mrs. John Heimann, all of Flagler, Louis in the armed forces in Hawaii, Ted in an army camp in Louisiana; Mrs. Hatilda Ecker of Limon, Colorado, Frank Polzin of Englewood, Colorado, and Julius Polzin of Gray, Iowa.

Polzin is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Pollock of Crook, Colorado, who came Tuesday to attend the funeral services, Mrs. Pauline Frees of Los Angeles, California, and three brothers, John and August of Missouri, and Emil of New York State.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Flagler Lutheran church and interment, in charge of the Shaw Mortuary, will be in the Flagler cemetery. Rev. O.R. Graumann of Genoa will give the funeral sermon.

Only one of the two sons who are in the Army will be Able to come for the funeral. Ted is expected home Wednesday afternoon from Louisiana where he is in not legible
