Pallbearers were Joe Hanrahan, Lloyd Knott, Art Hickey, Leo McSorley, Herman Meiners, Neil McCaffery.
Rosaries were recited at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla at 8 p.m. on Sunday and 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Manilla.
Agnes Loretta, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Russell) Powers, was born July 21, 1890, at Vail. She attended St. Ann's school at Vail and was united in marriage with Edward J. McMahon on April 5, 1910, at Vail. They farmed near Manilla until retiring to town in 1932.
Her husband died in 1956 and about five years ago Agnes moved to the Manning Plaza because of ill health, where she died on Saturday afternoon, June 3, 1972, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, 21 days.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Vernet in 1967 and Clarence in infancy; by one grandchild, four brothers, Ed, Linus, Tom, and John Powers; three sisters, Martha, Mrs. John J. McMahon; Ann, Mrs. Elmer Brasel; and Mary, Mrs. Andrew Hickey.
She is survived by four children, Cletus McMahon of Des Moines, Leta, Mrs. Malick Foley of Manning, Mrs. Delphine Goodman of Des Moines, Edward McMahon of Oakland, California, and by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marie McMahon of Sacramento, California, and by 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart Parish at Manilla and of the Rosary Society of her church.
