Adolph Schoening
Obituary.
Adolph Schoening, well known in Manning and vicinity, died at his late home in Montrose,
Colorado, after lingering with typhoid fever for thirty-five days. Adolph had gone there over a
year ago to take a position in the First National bank and he became so well liked, he soon
became its cashier, which position he was holding at the time of his death. It was not thought
that he was in danger until the last days of his sickness, when his attendants wired his
father to come at once. He immediately went and none too soon as he only lived a short time
after his arrival.
Adolph was born, on a farm some four miles northeast of Manning December 23, 1879, after passing through the Manning schools he finished his education at Des Moines
Some two years ago and as before stated, went to Montrose, over a year ago. He was an exemplary young man with good habits in every way, and well liked by all. The body was brought back to Manning and the funeral was held at his home last Sunday at 2 o'clock. Berthold Kraus made a very appropriate talk, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery south of town, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The bereaved parents and near relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
Adolph Schoening is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
