Services Held Here Friday For Adeline Sievers

Funeral services for Miss Adeline Sievers, who would have been 76 years of age November 21, 1944, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 10, at the Ohde Funeral home. The Rev. Arthur Raeside of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mrs. Nick C. Schrum, Mrs. Albert Dietz, H.C. Pahde and Clifford M. Johnson, with Mrs. Henry W. Hagedorn at the organ.

Burial was in the Manning cemetery. Neighbors who served as pallbearers were Emil Sander, Julius Wehrmann, Ben Wiese, Herman Vogt, Rudolph Kuhl, and Harry Reinholdt.

Miss Sievers was born November 21, 1868, at Plainview, Scott county, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Sievers. When seven years of age, she came with her parents to the Manning locality.

At that time the town of Manning was just beginning. Except for a few years spent in Omaha and. Davenport, Manning had been her home. She was a seamstress and had been in the employ of local stores for many years.

After being in failing health for many months, death came November 17, 1944, at her home in Manning.

She is survived by one brother, Henry Sievers of Westside, and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Wunder of Manning, and Mrs. Adelia Dudley of Omaha. Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.

Miss Sievers was a member of the Presbyterian church.


Adeline Sievers is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
