Richard Lee Lansman, Sr., son of Chris Lansman, Jr. and Barbara Susan (Gaskill) Lansman, was born on September 23, 1930, in Manning, Iowa; and died on April 17, 2019, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa.

At a young age he lived on a farm near Audubon, Iowa. After his father got hurt, then he dropped out of school to help with the family. He met Marjorie May Rudolf and they were married on February 14, 1953. They were blessed with 3 boys, Richard, Jr., Donald, and Timothy. They lived in the Audubon area and then moved to Yale, Iowa, where he was a farmer, and then in 1963 they moved to Perry, Iowa, where he worked at Oscar Mayer for 26 years from 1963 to 1989. After he retired, he did odd Jobs, mowed a lot of yards for years until his eyesight got bad due to Macular Degeneration. But that didn't stop him from enjoying camping and fishing. He enjoyed camping with Tim, Diane, family and friends. He loved to go to all the "Get Togethers" at Tim's with family and friends.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his 2 sons, Richard Jr. (Johnnie) Lansman, Adel, Iowa; and Timothy (Diane) Lansman, Perry, Iowa; sister-in-law Kathy Tribble, Coon Rapids, Iowa; grandkids, Steve (Renee) Lansman, Otho, Iowa; Brent (Tara) Lansman, Indianola, Iowa; Jeremy (Jana) Browns, Granger, Iowa; Mark Burger, Grimes, Iowa; and Tiffany Hull, Perry, Iowa; and great grandkids, Amanda, Ashlee, Emma and Serena Lansman, Kara, Kale, and Jessa Browns, Jace Coleman, Brinley, and Max Lansman and Lexi Burger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Barbara, wife Marge, son, Donald Lee Lansman, brothers, LaVern, Gerald and Wilfred Lansman, sister, Velma Wilson, father and mother-in-law Ted and Velma Rudolf, brothers-in-law, Marvin Heuton and Jerry Tribble, grandson, Danny Lansman and sisters-in-law, Jean Lansman, Ann Lansman, and Norma Jean Heuton.
