December 1966 - Pleiku, South Vietnam
During the Vietnam war, as during previous wars, the USO would bring movie or entertainment stars to the war zone to visit the troops and to raise morale.
One of these visits was from Tippi Hedren, who had recently starred in the movie "The Birds."
Pat managed to meet her when she visited Pleiku just before Christmas in 1966.
