Alviena Augusta, daughter of Wilhelm and Augusta Goettsch was born February 1, 1901, in Carroll County north of Manning. She died February 25, 1987.
Alviena married Eddie Dammann on February 8, 1922. They farmed in Audubon County - southeast of Manning until they retired and moved to Manning. Alviena was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Alviena enjoyed her many flowers and her sewing and tatting crafts.
Alviena is survived by her husband Eddie, daughter Edna Rudnick and her husband Reinhardt of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter Delores Jensen and her husband Lyle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son Donald and wife Judy of Manning, Iowa daughter-in-law Evelyn of Overland Park, Kansas; sister Ella Dammann of Carroll; brother William Goettsch of Templeton, Iowa 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son--Herbert Leroy, sister Betty VanBuren; brothers Louis, Harry and Emil Goettsch and grand-daughter Carol Jean Jensen.
She is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
