MARK D. MCNUTT
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Grace E-Free Church in Denison. Interment will be in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mark Dalton McNutt was born on November 14, 1950 in Manning, Iowa, the son of Dalton and Nellie (Farrell) McNutt. He graduated from Manning High School with the class of 1969. After graduation, Mark attended Morningside College in Sioux City and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree. Later, he received a degree in accounting from Buena Vista University.

On December 1, 1973, Mark was united in marriage to Pamala Gessman at the United Presbyterian Church in Denison, Iowa. To this union, they were blessed with two daughters: Valerie and Laura. They made their home in Denison until 2014 when they moved to Onawa.

Mark was employed at Farmland Foods in Denison as a cost accountant for 37 years and he also worked part-time at H&R Block for 25 years. He was a member of Grace E-Free Church in Denison for many years. Mark and Pam enjoyed playing cards with the Johnston's and they enjoyed the many memories they made over the years. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching many teams on the television. Although Mark was a quiet person he had an unexpected sense of humor. Above all, he cherished his family more than anything, especially his grandchildren.

Mark passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, attaining the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 23 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Dale McNutt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Betty Gessman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam McNutt of Onawa; two daughters: Valerie McNutt of Dallas, Texas, and Laura and her husband Chad Ruffcorn of Little Sioux, Iowa; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ruffcorn and grandson, Carter Ruffcorn both of Little Sioux, Iowa; brother, Gary McNutt and his wife Sharon of Silver City, Iowa; sisters, Jo McNutt of Manning, and Mary Saylor of Des Moines; siblings-in-law: Elkie and her husband Kent Lansink of Manilla and Kathy Gessman and her husband David Voss of Prince George, British Columbia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
