Shannon Faye Goeser, daughter of Bill and Bernice (Mescher) Koon, was born on January 31, 1937, in Manning, Iowa. She attended grade school in Manning, Iowa, up until graduation in 1955, then went on to attend business school in Omaha, Nebraska.

Shannon and her high school sweetheart, Peter Michael Goeser, united in marriage in 1959. They were married for 37 years until he sadly passed away in 1996. Shannon worked at the Holiday Inn Café in Harlan, Iowa. Following that, she became the Clerk of Court for Shelby County for 34 years.

Shannon passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, attaining the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 27 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bernice Koon; husband, Peter Michael Goeser; daughter Kathryn Thomsen; and brother, Gary Koon.

She is survived by children Terry Goeser of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Michelle (Michael) Hack, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Laurie (Dustin) Burkhardt of Aurora, Colorado; son-in-law Sean Thomsen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, brother Tom Koon of San Jose, California, and many other family members and friends.
