I normally would use my telephoto lens in the Auditorium which would have provided much better quality images - especially when flash wasn't used and against that dark curtain in the background...but I used my wide angle lens all day, which does have zoom capabilities and no comparison to the zoom quality with the telephoto lens.
But with this FFA event, not knowing how things were run at a convention, I didn't bring my telephoto lens with me in the school and didn't have time to run out to the car to get it.
This also would have required me to carry the other lens around all day with a belt strap-on case.
