I discovered the day of this FFA convention that the new sound board had come in and was installed.
Normally I would connect my digital audio recorder to the old sound board so it would record sound from any microphone they used through the sound system.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to connect to the new sound board at this time, so my only option was to place my audio recorder on the podium, which I knew would pick up the speakers, but the sound of the candidates on the remote microphone would not be the best since my recorder had to capture the sound through the air from the speakers up on the wall.
