Dagmar Marie Winsor, the youngest of four children born to Christian and Ottilia (Pedersen) Jensen, was born July 10, 1904, in Rokeby, Denmark. She came with her parents, two brothers and a sister to the United States on a ship called the "United States" where, during their passage in 1909, she celebrated her fifth birthday. After a two week passage they arrived in New York and then spent another night in Chicago before taking the train to Irwin, Iowa, to stay with her father's sister and husband. They lived for a short time in Fiscus before moving to a farm north of Harlan. Dagmar attended country schools, which were difficult at first because she did not speak English.

Dagmar was united in marriage with Charlie Winsor on March 25, 1924. Six children were born to this union. Dagmar and Charlie lived in Burlington Junction, Missouri, for less than two years before moving back to Shelby County, Iowa, where they farmed until their retirement. Charlie died in 1978 and in October of that year Dagmar moved to Manning. She belonged to the Methodist Church in Irwin for 34 years and continued her membership in the Methodist Church in Manning. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and, while in Irwin, was a member of the Pleasant Valley Club.

In September of 1991, Dagmar became a resident of the Manning Plaza where she died on Friday, March 31, 1995, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 21 days.

Besides her husband and parents Dagmar was preceded in death by four grandchildren: Monica Kolln, Karen Kay Hargens, Eugene Christian Hargens, and Robert Dale Hargens; three great-grandchildren: Jessica Hargens, Shaun Warner, and Allison Heffernan; two brothers, Lars and Eliff Jensen; and a sister, Helga Book.

Survivors include her children: Howard Christensen of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; Thelma Hargens of Avoca; Lois Anderson of Dunlap; Kenneth Winsor and his wife, Lorna, of Schleswig; Melba and her husband, Ray Kolln, of Dow City; and Donna and her husband, Victor Schwiesow, of Manning; 27 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
