THE LIFE STORY OF Alfred R. "Jack" Boeck, 77
Jack, son of Herman and Minnie (Blunk) Boeck, was born April 19, 1906, in East Boyer Township, Crawford County. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school, East Boyer No. 9.

On December 29, 1927, he married Mary Cecilia Knott. They lived in Manilla where he was a mechanic for several years before starting his own business. After his first wife's death, he married Ramona Grau at Arcadia.

He owned and operated Jack Boeck Construction, Manilla, for nearly 40 years before his health prevented him from being as active during the summer of 1983. He had been in failing health for several months before his death on Friday, March 30, 1984, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. He was 77 years, 11 months, and 11 days of age. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Manilla.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; two brothers: Ralph, in infancy and Benton Boeck and one great-grandson, Sammy Kremin.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona, Manilla; six children: Mary (Alfred) Bargenquast, Manilla, Raymond, Manilla, Josephine (Ray) Lingle, Manilla, Helen (Edwin) Bandow, Judy (Don) Schaben, Defiance, and Franklin, Manilla; 34 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert "Bob" Boeck, Denison and Oliver "Ike" Boeck, Denison; one sister: Helen, Mrs. Sam Kracht, Denison; one sister-in-law: Lill Boeck, Denison; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Services were held Tuesday, April 3, 1984, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla with Pastor Glenn Wiechmann, officiating.

Burial was in the Nishnabotna Cemetery with Keith Lingle, Kevin Lingle, Allan Bargenquast, Scott Bandow, Wyatt Bandow, Bryce Schaben as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers were R. Thomas Lingle, Rodney Lingle, Leonard Lingle, Denis Lingle, Stanley Bandow, Dale Bandow, and Shane Boeck.
